Santa Clara, CA, United States (4E) – Intel unveiled their high fashion cuff MICA which targets the female market.
Because of its high fashion flair matched with technology, Intel aims to advertise their new high fashion cuff to women. MICA which also stands for “My Intelligence Communication Accessory” is a product of Intel’s collaboration with fashion brand Opening Ceremony.
The two companies believe that MICA will be the answer to most problems experienced by the millennial woman nowadays. The cuff which is priced at $495 allows the user to receive, reply or dismiss to texts, emails or even Facebook notifications. But unlike any wrist accessory being sold today, it won’t function under Bluetooth connectivity. MICA will work independently just like a smartphone under US mobile carrier AT&T.
MICA is certainly one of those fashion forward wearable devices that’s becoming on trend today. There’s a long list of collaborations with these large tech companies with known fashion brands. For instance, Google partnered with Diane von Furstenberg and Apple hired Marc Newson .
Intel’s MICA will be available in the US early December and will be sold at selected Barneys stores and Opening Ceremony Stores in New York and Los Angeles. It will also be at the Opening Ceremony and Barneys website.
