Cupertino, CA, United States (4E) – After being the runaway winner in smartphone sales in the last quarter, Apple is expected to ship over 71.5 million iPhones in the last quarter of the year.
This latest Apple prediction came from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo . With the overwhelming response to the iPhone duo, Apple will still manage to grab the torch of being the bestselling manufacturer this quarter.
Kuo also added that the company’s quarter-over-quarter iPhone shipments will increase up to 82 percent this fourth quarter. The iPhone 6 will still account the majority of the iPhone sales at 60 percent overall. This means that the current smaller flagship will tally 41.65 million units. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus will not perform that well due to limited supply due to production issues.
In the first quarter of 2015, Apple is expected to slump in sales due to off-season demand. Kuo predicts that there will be a total of 49.5 million shipments of iPhone with iPhone 6 accounting 21.6 million and 10.6 million iPhone 6 Plus.
Lastly, both entry level iPhone 5c and iPhone 4s will be discontinued to give way for more iPhone 5s demands.
